Camping Gear Checklist

Note that not everything will be needed for every campout. These are many of the things we’ve found helpful for our camping trips. We recommend that no food items be left in tents. Many animals will seek out the food and have little trouble getting into your tents and storage areas to get the food.

  • Tent
  • Tent Stakes
  • Tarp / ground cloth
  • Sleeping Bag (Note the temperature rating)Air mattress, sleeping pad, or cot (optional, but helpful)
  • Pump for air mattress
  • Pillow
  • Clothes – appropriate for weather/region
  • Personal Care Items – soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant
  • Any necessary medications
  • Water Bottle/Canteen
  • Mug for hot drinks
  • Plate, bowl, knife, fork, spoon
  • Mesh Drying bag to let utensils air-dry
  • Mallet (optional, but helpful)
  • Flashlight or lantern
    • Batteries
  • Towel
  • Hat
  • Backpack or Duffel to carry gear
  • Camp chair
  • Bible
  • Book/games for free time
